After the Sirens Response

    I believe that nuclear weapons are not necessary in order to maintain global peace. Countries who have the ability to obtain nuclear weapons should not obtain them. Those countries who do have them are seen as a threat to other countries. Some believe they are simply a form of protection but in reality they are not required. It is true, however, that countries need protection for the security of their citizens, although, there are many other methods that do not require such harsh consequences. Nuclear weapons create even more problems when they are used compared to when they are not. They cause destruction to the environment and death to billions who do not deserve it. Therefore, nuclear weapons are a catastrophic means of protection that should not be used.
